Michael Sousa

Michael SousaPresident, Echo, A HealthStream Company and Morrisey, A HealthStream Company

Michael was named President of Echo, A HealthStream Company in March 2015. In this role, Michael provides executive leadership for Echo, directing our San Diego, CA and Brentwood, TN teams to build, sell, and service our comprehensive solution set for healthcare provider credentialing, privileging, enrollment, referral and directory, onboarding, and analytics.

Previously, Michael served as HealthStream’s senior vice president, business development. Prior to this role, he served as our senior vice president, sales where he reengineered the HealthStream sales teams into an integrated, high-performing sales organization. Earlier in his HealthStream tenure, he oversaw the design, launch, and growth of our HealthStream Strategic Accounts Program and HealthStream Professional Services, two successful initiatives. Prior to HealthStream, Michael held several consulting positions over nine years including as Associate Partner for IBM Business Consulting Services' healthcare practice, Managing Consultant for PWC Consulting's e-learning practice, and Senior Consultant for Coopers & Lybrand's Higher Education practice.  Michael earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston College's Carroll School of Management and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Boston University's School of Management.

Michael lives in Boulder, CO and enjoys marathon running, skiing, and rooting for the professional sports teams from his native Boston, MA.

Jonas Fridrichsen

Jonas FridrichsenVice President, Sales and Marketing

Jonas was named VP, Sales for Echo, A HealthStream Company in December 2015. In this role, Jonas provides executive leadership for all revenue-related activities across Echo.

Previously, Jonas served as SVP, Growth & Development, for Medalogix, LLC, a population health management start-up targeting post-acute care. At Medalogix, Jonas oversaw all sales, marketing, and business development activities. Prior to this role, he served as HealthStream's Sr. Director, New & Emerging Business, where he oversaw a team generating new sales in excess of $25M a year. Jonas earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Tennessee-Knoxville, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.

Jonas lives in Boulder, CO area and enjoys fly fishing, a good novel, the occasional rock n' roll show, and slow days at home with his wife, who is way out of his league, and 3 vibrant kids.

Lance Hebert

Lance HebertVice President, Product

Lance is Echo’s Vice President of Product. He oversees product management processes and prioritization, and he operates as the general manager for Echo’s Brentwood office.

Prior to this role, Lance joined Sy.Med Development, a HealthStream company in 2000, where he served in multiple leadership roles. He was most recently Vice President, Sales & Marketing, during which time he significantly expanded market penetration and drove additional revenue growth while building and re-focusing the sales team. Earlier in his tenure while operating as Vice President, Technical Resources, Lance implemented methods to improve product installation, application testing, and upgrade distribution. He integrated new systems and streamlined processes to improve the efficiencies of the company's support and sales efforts. He also served as Vice President, Client Services, where he focused on improving software implementation and client support while developing many of the company’s policies and procedures. Earlier in his career, Lance held a Systems Consultant position with Superior Consultant (Xerox), focusing on client management, project management, and business development. Lance earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Management Information Systems from Auburn University’s Raymond J. Harbert College of Business.

Lance lives in Brentwood, TN with his talented wife and their two beautiful girls. He enjoys being outdoors, golfing, wakesurfing, snow skiing and is a huge football fan.

Paul R. Holbel

Paul HolbelChief Technology Officer

Paul R. Holbel joined Echo in June 1989 as a software developer, after graduating from the University of Michigan. As Chief Technology Officer, Paul oversees all software development, quality assurance, release management, and cloud services for Echo. Prior to this role, Paul oversaw the client services and implementation teams, and established Echo cloud solutions.

Earlier in his tenure, Paul oversaw the formation of our CVO, where he ensured that technology would always be a key differentiator role in our credentialing solutions. As well as overseeing the rapid growth strategies of our CVO solutions, he also guided them through their initial NCQA certification. With over 25 years of developing leading software solutions in the healthcare credentialing marketplace, Paul has developed an outstanding ability to develop and deliver, meaningful and effective solutions in a highly efficient and replicable manner.

Paul and his wife enjoy raising three boys in San Diego.

Barry Lancaster

Barry LancasterVice President, Operations

Barry Lancaster joined HealthStream in August 2008 as Senior Director Professional Services. Barry was responsible for creating our services products and for building our professional services team for our WorkForce Development Business Segment. Barry was promoted to Associate Vice President Professional Services taking on additional responsibilities to lead HealthStream’s training team and the Project Management Office. Barry was promoted to Vice President Client Service Operations consolidating all service operations within WorkForce development including additional responsibilities for customer service and partner on-boarding. Throughout his roles at HealthStream, he has worked in client facing opportunities and has championed our value of customer focus throughout the organization. Over the last few years he has been the voice of the customer for our over 3,000 customers helping drive culture change in how we develop and support products.

Prior to HealthStream, Barry worked at Juris to develop a professional services team to implement and support their clients in the legal space. Barry also worked for Accenture for 15 years as a technical architecture consulting for clients such as AT&T, State of Tennessee, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee. Barry earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University.

Barry lives in Erie, CO and as an avid cyclist enjoys the bike friendly community and other outdoor activities like hiking and camping.

Clay Ryan

Clay RyanDivisional Controller

Clay was promoted to Divisional Controller of HealthStream’s Provider Solutions segment in February 2017. In this role, Clay leads the accounting and finance functions of the segment. Clay joined  HealthStream  in October 2015 as Financial Reporting Manager and was primarily responsible for HealthStream’s external financial reporting. Prior to joining HealthStream, Clay worked as an auditor for BDO USA, LLP where he worked with clients in various industries, including healthcare, manufacturing and technology. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Middle Tennessee State University.

Clay lives with his wife in Nolensville, TN and enjoys trail running, fly fishing  and long days on the lake.

Roger Platt

Roger PlattVice President, Implementation Services

Roger is currently Vice President, Implementation Services. He joined Echo in October 2002 as a member of the Client Services department and was promoted to his current position in July 2010. As Vice President of Client Services, he is responsible for product implementation, technical support, training, data conversion and integration, PDF and web form design services, and infrastructure management. Roger has also held the positions of Software Implementation Manager and Director, Technical Services.

Prior to joining Echo, Roger was with Dialogic Communications Corporation (now part of Airbus Defense and Space) in Franklin, TN. While at Dialogic, he gained experience with software development with a focus on relational databases and statistical analysis while creating databases and geographical information systems for DCC’s emergency notification solutions. Roger earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Process Management from Indiana University, Kelley School of Business in Bloomington, Indiana.

Roger lives in Brentwood, TN and enjoys running, woodworking, spending time with this family and watching the Tennessee Titans and Indiana Hoosiers.

Vicki Searcy

Vicki SearcyVice President, Client Success Services and Consulting

Vicki L. Searcy oversees all Consulting Services, which offers expertise from program design through implementation. She specializes in practitioner competency management, including credentialing and privileging; quality and peer review; and management initiatives related to medical staff organizations.

Before joining Morrisey in 2008, Vicki managed credentialing and privileging practices for several organizations and led a national healthcare accreditation and compliance consulting practice for a prominent accounting, tax and consulting firm. In addition, Vicki was a surveyor for the National Committee on Quality Assurance Credentials Verification Organization (CVO) certification program and was president of the National Association Medical Staff Services.

Vicki is accomplished in helping hospitals, healthcare systems, health plans, medical groups and CVOs cope with a constantly changing business and regulatory environment and improve the quality of care. Her projects often involve changes in operations necessary to meet accreditation and licensing standards, as well as to improve productivity and operational efficiency.

She often lends her expertise to national educational providers and professional organizations, and is an active author in the field. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and international travel with her family.
